Dyeing Your Hair Versus Wearing A Wig

We all want to change our look once in a while, right?  From cutting our hair to dying it a different color, we all experience a want to change the way we look and wear our hair at least one point in our lives.  Women are given the choice and the resources to change the way they look such as salons, make-up, and hair accessories that it’s almost impossible not to be able to sport a new and completely different look.  If we’re to focus on hair, for example, you have a choice between dyeing your hair a different color and wearing a really great wig if you’d like to have a completely new hairdo.  A lot of women have actually debated over which option is better, so to get a closer look at the issues this article is going to discuss the pros and cons of each.

Hair Dyeing

Pros:  Dyeing one’s hair is one of the most popular trends in the beauty industry with so many possible hair colors to choose from.  By picking the right color for the right hair length, skin tone, and head shape you can easily turn yourself into a supermodel or a hair model right there and there.  The nice thing about dyeing is that your hair will always look like real natural hair and that people won’t immediately think that you’re wearing a wig.

Cons:  Hair dyeing requires you to maintain your treatments in order to keep the color of your hair from fading as time goes by.  What’s more, some of the chemicals being used to dye hair can also be too strong that it could damage it severely, especially those that are used to darken hair.  That leaves you to spend more on hair treatments that will recover your hair’s luster and silky feel, which could go over the roof in the long run.  Unless you had your hair done in a fancy and expensive professional hair salon, you’ll actually be risking a lot if you decide to dye your hair.

Wearing Wigs

Pros:  Wearing a wig is definitely a safe choice if you are too scared to use chemicals to change your hair’s color and look.  You just have to pick out the best wig for your face, skin tone, and head shape and you’re on your way to looking like a totally new person.  You can wear all kinds of differently colored wigs and not have to worry about your hair falling off or your hair feeling really stiff and dry.

Cons:  Unless you can afford a wig made with 100% real hair, you might have to settle for synthetic wigs if you don’t have the budget for this new look.  Most of the cheap wigs in the market either make you look totally hideous or makes it very obvious that you are wearing a wig.  There are tips out there on how to style a wig, but you’ll be very limited since one of the things that you aren’t supposed to do is to style the wig with curling irons or straightening equipment.
